Controversial Snoqualmie Police Officer placed on Administrative Leave after being Indicted on Federal charges

Via a press release the  City of Snoqualmie said it was aware that on May 19, 2016, Snoqualmie Police Officer Nicholas Hogan was charged with a federal crime based on an incident that occurred during his previous employment with the Tukwila Police Department.

According to the Seattle Times, a grand  jury indicted Hogan on a charge of violating the civil rights of a man who he sprayed with pepper spray while he was restrained on a gurney at Harborview Medical Center in 2011.

In light of this information, the City of Snoqualmie said it is placing Officer Hogan on paid administrative leave.

Prior to being hired in Snoqualmie in 2013, Hogan had worked in Tukwila but was terminated after the City of Tukwila settled two lawsuits over claims of Hogan’s use of excessive force.

While with the Snoqualmie Police Department,  Hogan was put administrative leave and faced 20 days without pay in early 2016 after an affair with a fellow officer’s wife.
