Another website has ranked Snoqualmie one of the best Washington cities to live in. This time it’s HomeSnacks, which says it “combines recent data from the Census, FBI, OpenStreetMaps, and dozens of other sources into bite-sized studies to help you understand what it’s like to live in different communities across the country.”
The website ranked 120 Washington cities with more than 5,000 residents using a number of criteria, including median home value, median income, population density (higher better for scoring), unemployment rate, commute time, crime, education levels, health insurance coverage and poverty rates.
It then took the average rank across all criteria, with the city posting the lowest overall score getting the crown of Best Place to Live in Washington.
Snoqualmie came in at #4 on this year’s list – the same ranking as last year. The city’s low crime (11th lowest) and unemployment rates (3.3%), median home value ($582,000) and residents with high paying jobs ($144,000 avg.) put it near the top behind Brier (3), Sammamish (2) and Mercer Island (1). The website also states that Snoqualmie’s “cost of living is lower than it should be.”
Rounding out the top 10 behind Snoqualmie were Redmond(5), Duvall(6), Mill Creek(7), Kirkland(8), Lake Forest Park(9) and Bellevue(10).

We wish we had realized just how much worse the weather is here vs Seattle, Bellevue and even Issaquah. Snoqualmie get 59 inches of rain a year vs 38 in Seattle. The wind on the ridge in Eagle Pointe is also so loud it often keeps us up at night. Our house will be on the market this Spring (after just a year).
This is like a hilarious Yelp review. But for an entire city. Didn’t you do a little research before you moved here? It’s like moving to Phoenix and being all like: “This is a terrible city, it’s so hot”.
(shaking and hugging his knees). “There was so much rain. So. Much. Rain.”
Great! Looks like everyone wins. Not everyone is cut out to live here. Can you please take your umbrella with you? We don’t use them.
So rain is a deal breaker? Are you unable to get wet? ARE YOU A WITCH!
Moves to the edge of the mountains. Surprised there’s weather.
You’re probably better suited for Bellevue
