On Saturday, July 11, 2020 Snoqualmie residents began inquiring on social media, asking why the popular Snoqualmie Ridge MOD Pizza location was closed.
As is typically the case on social media platforms, many theories were shared, including coronavirus. According to residents, signs stated the location was temporarily closed, but didn’t cite a reason.
On Monday, July 13th, MOD Pizza Public Relations Director Charlotte Wayte confirmed an employee at the Snoqualmie Ridge restaurant had tested positive for COVID-19.
Wayte commented via email, “Once we were informed, we immediately closed the store and performed a deep cleaning following the guidance of the CDC, and all impacted employees were immediately contacted and isolated (again following CDC guidelines).”
Wayte said she would check on the status of reopening and follow up once she had that information.
According to MOD’s website, restaurant and staff safety protocols include enhanced daily cleaning; thorough and frequent employee hand washing; employee face covering and glove wearing; additional high frequency touchpoint cleaning; employee temperature and wellness checks prior to shifts; a dedicated COVID-19 health review team.
MOD Pizza was founded in Seattle in 2008 and has more than 400 locations in the United States and United Kingdom. The Snoqualmie Ridge location opened in November 2017.
King County Public Health reported 10 new coronavirus cases in Snoqualmie (city limits and unincorporated area) during the past two weeks. Two of those new Snoqualmie cases were reported on July 12th and 13th.

Hey MOD Pizza – how about telling us when the employee was working in the couple of weeks prior?? And – were they preparing our food??
This is really scary news! I was in the Issaquah highlands location on Monday, July 13 and only 2 of the employees were wearing their masks properly! Their noses and some mouths were exposed!
MOD needs to train their employees ASAP or other locations will be forced to close!
