Snoqualmie Indian Tribe Announces Plans for New Child Development Center

The Snoqualmie Indian Tribe announces plans for renovating the former hospital building currently located at 9575 Ethan Wade Way SE, Snoqualmie, Washington for the purpose of opening a new child development center. 

The property at this location is not on the Reservation but is the Tribe’s administrative campus.  

To assist Tribal Administration with the facilitation of this project, studioMLA Architects, LLC has been selected to oversee the renovation design. 

Founded in 2006, studioMLA Architects has designed a variety of children’s environments, both nationally and internationally, and is a recognized leader in the integration of sustainable design and natural spaces. 

The Tribe is also partnering with Bright Horizons Family Solutions, LLC to manage the daily operations of the center. 

Bright Horizons operates approximately 1,000 early education and child care centers in the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and India, and serves more than 1,300 of the world’s leading employers. 

Locally, the company operates the Snoqualmie Ridge Early Learning Center.

Both of these partners will be instrumental in integrating Native American culture in both the design of the center, as well as the programming and curriculum.  Another unique aspect of the project is that the Tribe sought out and secured applicable grant funding to make the project 100% grant-funded.

A place for our culture to thrive and keep living through our children” said Culture Director Ginger de los Angeles.   “Our parents wanted these things for us and their parents wanted it for them. It is wonderful to see it come to fruition.”

The child development center will serve families of Tribal Members, employees of the Tribal Administration, and the local Tribal community at large, offering high-quality early childhood education programs for children ages six weeks to five years old.  The center will have a total capacity for 70 children.
