At the November 25 City Council meeting, the Snoqualmie Fire Department proudly welcomed six new members to its team, including two career firefighters and four volunteer Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs).
Deputy Chief Brown introduced the recruits, after which Mayor Ross presented each with their helmet. Family and friends joined the ceremony by pinning badges on the new members, marking their official inclusion in the department.
Career Firefighters
The department’s two new career firefighters bring a wealth of experience to Snoqualmie:
- Jack Owens began his firefighting journey in high school as an explorer with Snohomish Fire District 4. For the past seven years, he served with the Boeing Fire Department.
- Damian Ramos has 15 years of firefighting experience, with a decade as a volunteer firefighter and five years as a career firefighter for the Sunnyside Fire Department.
Volunteer EMTs
The four new volunteer EMTs bring diverse backgrounds and valuable skills to the department:
- Aliza Davids recently relocated to Washington from Israel, where she worked as an EMT for Magen David Adom, Israel’s National Rescue Service and Red Cross branch.
- Shannon Outz grew up in the Pacific Northwest and now works for a nonprofit that provides health and wellness resources to King County families.
- Will Sirski moved to Seattle from California and works as an engineer at Boeing.
- Hayley West, a Snoqualmie Valley native and daughter of Snoqualmie Fire Department Lt. Matt West, is currently an EMT with AMR, responding to 911 calls alongside the Seattle Fire Department.
Deputy Chief Brown shared his enthusiasm for the department’s newest additions:
“We are excited to grow our Snoqualmie Fire family with these talented new members of the department. I know they all look forward to serving our residents and becoming part of this special community.”
Adding these new firefighters and EMTs ensures continued support for the Snoqualmie Fire Department’s mission to serve the community. Residents can expect to see them contributing to the area’s emergency response and public safety efforts.
