Allied Waste announced it will not collect garbage and recycle in Snoqualmie and North Bend today, February 24th. Snoqualmie Valley’s icy and snowy roads were deemed unsafe for drivers according to Allied Waste officials.
Affected customers may double up their garbage and recycle for their next scheduled pick up at no additional charge. Allied Waste requests that extra garbage be placed in securely tied plastic bags and placed next to garbage containers. Residents may also place extra garbage in yard waste containers as long as that container is clearly labeled “Garbage.” It is recommended that a sign be taped to the top of the yard waste container clearly labeled “GARBAGE.” Placing extra bags next to your regular container is preferred by Allied Waste to eliminate confusion for yard waste collection drivers, though. Extra recycle should be securely placed next to recycle container so as not to blow away.
Tomorrow’s collection, February 25th, may also be delayed and/or canceled if road conditions are again deemed unsafe for drivers. Allied Waste has not announced any changes for tomorrow’s schedule as of yet. If they do, it will be announced on their website www.rabanco.com.
