Snoqualmie and North Bend Earn 2025 WellCity Awards, Reinforcing Commitment to Employee Health and Community Engagement

The Association of Washington Cities (AWC) has honored the City of Snoqualmie and the City of North Bend with the prestigious WellCity designation for 2025, recognizing their unwavering dedication to employee health and wellness.

Snoqualmie has received the accolade for the second consecutive year. Mayor Katherine Ross praised the city’s Human Resources Department, stating, “The City of Snoqualmie employees’ dedication to health and wellness is a testament to the success of our Wellness Program led by our Human Resources Department. This program not only helps our employees achieve their health goals but also delivers significant savings for our taxpayers.”

North Bend celebrates its 15th consecutive year earning the WellCity distinction. Mayor Miller emphasized the broader impact of the city’s health initiatives: “The health of our staff is a direct reflection of the overall health of our community here in North Bend, as city staff play an important role in our operations. The WellCity distinction is a testament to our commitment to nurture this healthy workplace.”

The WellCity designation is awarded to entities that meet the AWC Employee Benefit Trust’s rigorous standards and demonstrate a commitment to employee health. Achieving these standards fosters a culture of well-being and grants a 2% discount on medical premiums.

Both cities have implemented programs that extend beyond the workplace, encouraging staff to engage in community-enhancing activities. In North Bend, employees participate in events such as tree planting, volunteering at local food banks, and litter collection.

Looking ahead, North Bend is organizing its annual North Bend Beautification Days in April, coinciding with Earth Day, to promote community collaboration in maintaining the town’s natural beauty.

These sustained efforts by Snoqualmie and North Bend underscore a shared commitment to fostering healthy work environments and vibrant communities.
