Shop Local, Spark Joy: Holiday Finds in the Snoqualmie Valley

The magic of the holiday season is alive in the Snoqualmie Valley, and this year, I embraced it by shopping locally for my Christmas presents and festive essentials.

Supporting small businesses doesn’t just feel good; it’s a meaningful way to connect with the community and discover unique treasures for loved ones. As I wandered through the Valley’s shops and markets, I found everything I needed to make this season special, from delicious treats to heartfelt gifts and holiday décor.

At Falling River Meats in North Bend, I picked up a rib roast for Christmas dinner—perfect for a holiday centerpiece. Sourced from Pure Country Farms in Ephrata, WA, the meat reflects Falling River’s commitment to offering high-quality, ethically raised products.

By working directly with local farms, they ensure freshness, sustainability, and exceptional flavor. Whether planning a holiday feast or looking for the best cuts, Falling River Meats is a trusted spot where quality and care come first.

A stop at Christmas Creek Tree Farm in North Bend brought me to their adorable gift shop, where I found two ornaments for myself and one for my sister. I love the chance to add something meaningful to our trees each year. Christmas Creek has been a part of the Valley for decades, and visiting always feels like a timeless piece of the holiday season.

In Historic Downtown Snoqualmie, Carousel is one of my favorite spots for finding thoughtful gifts. This year, I couldn’t resist picking up an ornament for myself and another for my husband. For over 30 years, this family-owned shop has been a go-to for unique finds and beautiful seasonal décor, making every visit feel like stepping into a holiday wonderland.

Practical touches can still bring joy, so I stopped by the Dollar Tree in Snoqualmie for gift wrap, tissue paper, and delicate snowflakes for my windows, all for only $1.25 each! Adding those small, festive details around the house is one of my favorite parts of the season—and it’s always nice to keep it budget-friendly.

The Si View Holiday Bazaar in North Bend was a treasure trove of local finds, including beautiful pieces from Wreaths by Cascara (Brought to you by the ladies of Casacara Concierge of Snoqualmie). I brought home a large wreath for myself and a candle ring for my sister’s stocking. There’s something special about décor that feels timeless and thoughtful, and these pieces are exactly that.

At the No Boat Christmas Market in Snoqualmie, I treated my sister and husband to artisan chocolates from Blue Streak Chocolates. Chocolatier Mary Kelley’s salted caramels and chocolate truffles are handmade in small batches, and every bite feels like a celebration. They’re the kind of indulgence that makes gifting (and sneaking a taste) so much fun.

At the Scott Rinckenberger Gallery in North Bend, I found the perfect gift for my sister’s stocking: Cards of Norway, featuring Scott’s stunning photography of Nordic landscapes. Since she recently traveled to Norway, these cards felt like a thoughtful way to remind her of the breathtaking scenery she experienced.

The gallery itself is a treasure, showcasing Scott’s fine art photography that captures the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and beyond. With its rotating seasonal exhibits, it’s not just a place to shop; it’s a space where art and nature come together to inspire. Selecting these cards felt as meaningful as the memories they’ll evoke for her.

At the North Bend Downtown Foundation’s Pop-Up Market, I discovered Allium + Thistle, a Carnation-based business that creates sustainable, non-toxic candles and skincare products.

Their Winter Candle Tin caught my eye and smelled so good. Made with pure, sustainable ingredients, it brings a cozy, clean glow to my house and feels like a little piece of calm during the holiday rush.

I also found Resin Jewelry by Becky, a Fall City artisan who creates stunning, handcrafted pieces with real flowers preserved in resin. Her delicate flower drop earrings, which I picked up for my sister’s stocking, are like wearable art—each pair a unique celebration of nature’s beauty.

Discovering Becky’s work at the market made the find even more special, knowing it was made just down the road. Becky is working on a social media presence, but for now, you can reach her at resinjewelrybybecky@gmail.com or 206-605-3532.

In addition, Ramsey Gear, a North Bend business known for its rugged, long-lasting designs, caught my attention. I picked up a durable water bottle for my husband’s stocking—practical, thoughtfully designed, and built to keep up with his active lifestyle. It’s a gift that reflects the spirit of the Valley: functional, reliable, and made with care.

Shopping locally in the Snoqualmie Valley isn’t just about finding the perfect gifts but the connections behind each purchase. Every shop and market I visited reminded me of the creativity and care that make this community so special.

This year, as I wrap each gift and decorate my home, I know some items carry a little extra magic because they come from the heart of the Valley.
