Serious Injury Collision on SR202 Sunday Afternoon

According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), on Sunday, October 29th, at approximately 3:17 pm, an accident occurred on SR 202 and SE 46th.

A 76-year-old woman from Issaquah was driving a 2020 Lexus eastbound on SR202, and a 62-year-old woman from North Bend was driving a 2005 Honda motorcycle westbound. The Lexus made a left turn on SE 46th Street, misjudging the distance of the motorcycle and hit the Honda.

The driver of the motorcycle was ejected from her vehicle and taken to Harborview Hospital with serious injuries. Her vehicle was reportedly totaled. She was wearing a USDOT-compliant helmet.

The Lexus driver was uninjured and faces possible charges of negligent driving in the 2nd degree. The cause of the accident was stated by the WSP as ‘Failure to Yield the Right of Way.’

The roadway was blocked for approximately one hour.
