On Thursday, October 10, 2013, around 2:45PM, North Bend Police Chief, Mark Toner, asked city staff to notify residents trying to access bendigo accidentdowntown North Bend via I-90 and exit 31 to use alternate routes; stating there was a serious car accident and Bendigo Blvd would be closed for 2-3 hours.

Today, King County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman, Cindi West, said the accident occurred around 2PM on October 10th.  West said it appears that a Volvo driven by a 45-year old North Bend man was attempting to turn left onto South Fork Ave from Bendigo Blvd and turned into an oncoming car driven by a 43-year old North Bend woman, resulting in the vehicle collision.

West reported that the man sustained no injuries. The female driver, though, appeared to have sustained serious, but not life-threatening, injuries to her head, jaw and possibly a broken leg.  She was transported to Harborview Medical Center.

King County Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating the accident.  It appears there was no evidence of alcohol or drugs.
