Update 8:27 pm: The two right lanes on westbound I-90 at SR 18 have fully reopened.
At approximately 3:30 p.m. Thursday, October 24, 2024, a semi-truck rollover is causing significant delays on I-90 westbound near milepost 23, just west of SR 18.
According to Washington State Patrol PIO Rick Johnson, the trailer began fishtailing and rolled, ejecting the driver in front of the truck. Fortunately, the driver is injured but conscious and alert.
Todd’s Towing is on-site or arriving shortly to assist. The collision is currently blocking the two right lanes.
Drivers are urged to proceed with caution through the area.

There was no semi!
It was a dump truck pulling a trailer carrying a backhoe; the trailer began fish-tailing as the truck (westbound) approached the I-90 bridge over Raging River east of Preston; the fish-tailing rapidly increased in severity and the truck-trailer combination was pulled to the right shoulder, where it created a duststorm as it all came apart; the truck flipped over the guardrail, while the backhoe broke lose from the trailer and both trailer and backhoe flipped, landing upside-down on the pavement.
I was driving westbound approximately 300′ behind the rig as all of this transpired and watched it all happen
Many semi trucks on 90, both directions, exceed the speed limits. I would like to see Washington State Patrol doing their job on 90.
I was stuck in traffic after this accident. I agree, not a semi. All I saw was the overturned bulldozer. Glad no one died.
