Tanner said the outage will allow crews and subcontractors to work efficiently and safely while the North Bend substation is de-energized –  and also give crews the opportunity to perform a high level substation maintenance and upgrade.

The electricity co-op services about 2,000 residences in North Bend.

Tanner Electric anticipates the work to be finished in a timely manner,” but stated  if any unforeseen circumstances beyond their control should arise, the outage could extend past 8 AM on Saturday, October 8th. If this occurs Tanner Electric staff will post any necessary updates or changes on their website at

For customers with medical conditions that could be compromised due to this service interruption, Tanner asks that you please make arrangements or accommodations to stay with a friend or family to ensure your safety until the power outage has been completed.
