Beginning Monday, March 9, Sallal Water Association will begin their Water Main Replacement Project in and around the intersection of North Bend Way, Mt Si Road and Stilson Avenue SE.
Work will require intermittent lane closures between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., with work occurring approximately 200 feet south on Stilson Avenue, to the Snoqualmie Valley Trail crossing on Mt Si Road and approximately 200 feet beyond the intersection, on both sides of North Bend Way. Crews will eventually close a small portion of Stilson Avenue SE to complete the water main work.
The city will update the community as this work continues. Drivers should expect traffic control during traffic interruptions.
Sallal’s Water Main Replacement Project will involve replacing an aging water main that has reached the end of its useful life. Contractor crews will replace 1670 feet of 8-inch Asbestos Cement (AC) pipe with 8-inch Ductile Iron (DI) pipe and 390 feet of 8-inch AC pipe with 12-inch DI pipe. Water main replacement is a crucial component of maintaining and improving local infrastructure, reducing system distribution leakage, and ensuring water quality.
The project will require 50 working days, likely wrapping up in middle-to-late May 2026. Work is weather-dependent. Questions can be emailed to admin@sallal.com. Learn about the member-owned water co-op, Sallal Water Association, by visiting www.sallal.com.
