The City of North Bend is warning residents of another road closure planned for Stilson Avenue (432nd Avenue SE) related to work for a new housing development.
The city explained previous sewer main extension work resulted in greater damage of the existing roadway than expected and caused pavement cracking and settling to occur. The City required the developer to leave the roadway in the temporary patched condition until next SVSD’s mid-winter break, the week of February 19th.
Stilson Ave/423nd will be closed Tuesday, February 20th through Saturday, February 24th for the pavement repair work that includes providing adequate road sub-grade, base-course compaction and a temporary asphalt lift. Due to the scope of the work, full road closure will be required for this construction to safely occur.
Work for the final lift, overlay and pedestrian curbing will occur during the summer of 2018 and may require additional closures to be determined at a future date. Notice will be provided at this time if closures will be necessary.
