Residents and commuters in the Snoqualmie Valley should be aware of upcoming transportation disruptions over the next two months, with both a bridge closure and trail maintenance affecting local routes.
Bridge Maintenance Closes Stossel Bridge Thursday

King County crews will temporarily close the Stossel Bridge on NE Carnation Farm Road over the Snoqualmie River on Thursday, August 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for regular bridge maintenance. The closure affects the stretch between the 30919 block and 310th Avenue NE in the Carnation area.
While emergency vehicles will maintain access through the road if needed, all other traffic must follow posted detours via NE 124th Street, West Snoqualmie Valley Road, and SR 203. Drivers should plan for extra travel time and check MyCommute for the most current information.
Extended Trail Closure for Bridge Repairs
A longer closure is planned for the popular Snoqualmie Valley Trail, where King County Parks will shut down a section north of Mt. Si Golf Course near Three Forks Natural Area from September 2 through October 10, 2025.
The six-week closure will allow crews to repair two trestle bridges, extending their lifespan and maintaining trail safety for years to come. Unlike the road closure, no detour routes are available for trail users during this period.

County officials are asking for patience as they complete these essential infrastructure improvements to keep both the bridge and the trail system safe and functional for the community.
