Area middle school students are invited to register for Empower Youth Network’s 14th Annual Be the Change Summit on Saturday, March 12, 2022, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Chief Kanim Middle School (32627 SE Redmond Fall City Road, Fall City, WA 98024).
Empower Youth Network (EYN) welcomes back youth participants to this in-person format for 2022.
At the Be the Change Summit, middle school-aged students (grades 6-8) will engage with Luis Ortega, public speaker and possibility coach extraordinaire, and learn from several youth co-facilitators and adult presenters from the community.
Luis Ortega is a multidisciplinary storyteller, TEDx Speaker, educator, artist, and the founder of Storytellers for Change.
Luis has traveled across the nation to share his narrative and message about the power of storytelling and story-listening to inspire action and build empathetic, inclusive, and equitable communities.
Be the Change Summit will help youth discover inner strengths and build foundations for leadership. Middle school students enrolled in the Snoqualmie Valley and Riverview School Districts are invited to attend, and students from neighboring districts, homeschool programs, and private schools.
Tickets are on sale for $25. The ticket price includes lunch, a t-shirt and a chance to win door prizes. Scholarships are available and encouraged if the fee presents a barrier to attendance.
