Rainbow Lodge Announces New Initiative To Serve LGBTQ+ Youth

At its meeting on January 8, 2026, the Board of Directors of Rainbow Lodge Retreat Center approved a new initiative to serve LGBTQ+ Youth and the organizations that serve them. While continuing its function as a spiritual, community, and educational retreat center, the Board is committed to leveraging the organization’s many resources to benefit the lives of our communities’ most marginalized youth.

Rainbow Lodge envisions becoming a place of bridge-building, connecting LGBTQ+ partners, communities, and youth in a setting grounded in safety and acceptance. They seek to create intentional experiences where transgender and queer youth feel valued, deeply engaged, and empowered. They aim to build bridges of belonging that lead to thriving, joy, and lasting transformation.

To accomplish that vision, Rainbow Lodge staff and Board members will survey youth and youth-serving organizations to determine what needs they recommend Rainbow Lodge be prepared to meet. Those needs may include programmatic additions, structures that need to be built, and services to be developed.

The Board anticipates the possible need for a capital campaign to construct additional youth-centered lodging. If so, the Board will reach out to our broader community to invest in this important initiative to support LGBTQ+ Youth.

Rainbow Lodge, a 501(c)(3) organization, has been a place of spiritual and relational healing for over 45 years. We are grateful to put the assets of Rainbow Lodge to work for the deep healing needed to fully embrace, love, and accept youth who our society so often rejects. It is time to embrace all children as the children of God.

We welcome all who want to join this important work.
