Protect Your Holiday Packages and Cars from Theft

During the holiday season, getting packages delivered on time is crucial. To reduce the risk of these deliveries being stolen, there are several steps you can take.

First, you can request that deliveries require a signature. Alternatively, send your packages to someone who can receive them, like your office or a neighbor’s house. Another option is to use local retail pick-up boxes, which some delivery companies offer. If you’re going on a holiday, tell the post office to pause your mail and package deliveries until you’re back.

Car break-ins are another concern, especially in residential areas, near shops, and at malls. Always lock your car, even if you’re leaving it briefly. Avoid leaving valuable items or shopping bags where they can be seen. Put anything in your car in the trunk if you must leave anything in your car.

Try to park your car in busy, well-lit areas. If you have a garage, use it and lock it. Remember to remove any garage door remotes if you’re not parking inside your garage.

If you notice anything suspicious or have concerns, don’t hesitate to call 911 and talk to a Snoqualmie Police Officer.
