Early Friday morning, March 22, 2019, Eastside Firefighters reported via social media that crews responded to the serious accident on westbound I-90 – about a half-mile east of the SR 18 interchange – involving a bus that collided with a car.
The accident occurred around 5:30AM. Police at the scene reported the collision resulted in serious and possible fatal injuries to at least two people. Firefighters on scene reported there were no patients on the bus.
WSP Trooper Rick Johnson said the bus involved was being transported from Minnesota to Vancouver, BC when it collided with the rear of a sedan that was disable in the right lane. The impact crushed the rear of the vehicle. Unfortunately the male driver died in the accident. A female passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
At 7:30AM WSDOT said the right two lanes were blocked, with traffic backups stretching two miles. As of 7:45AM there was no ETA for completing the investigation. Driver were urged to expect delays or use alternate routes.

It was only a matter of time at that interchange. It’s so terrifying to merge from Exit 27 onto I90. That looks like where it was? I’m so sad for the families.
