Police Blotter | Parked car late night shenanigans; a phone not a gun; digging up the park

Here are a few of the calls the Snoqualmie Police Department responded to in North Bend and Snoqualmie over the past two weeks:

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES | NORTH BEND McDONALD’S

On April 16th at 2:30AM an employee reported two angry customers in trucks – they were mad McDonald’s was closed, poured out beer in the parking lot and sped away toward the Safeway parking lot and Burger King. An officer responded, checked nearby businesses, but the men were not located.

THEFT IN-PROGRESS |  NORTH BEND COACH STORE

On April 16th at 3PM an employee reported that a male grabbed three bags and took off. He jumped into a waiting light-colored sedan and left the area.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES | RIVERVIEW PARK, Snoqualmie

On April 17th at 11PM an officer contacted two vehicles in the parking where he found a “male and female meeting up for late night shenanigans.” The couple was told to leave the park.

CITIZEN ASSIST | TRUCK TOWN, North Bend

On April 17th at 7PM a caller requested information on idling laws in Washington, and explained a nearby truck had “two large straight pipes for exhaust” that were very loud. The caller was concerned the truck would idle all night and it was very loud. SPD advised him to call back after 10PM and an officer could check to see if the noise was unreasonable.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES | SNOQUALMIE YMCA

On April 20th at 7:30PM an employee reported a male in a baseball cap sitting in a car across from the location staring at kids in the park. The employee did not think the man had kids at the location, and reported that he ignored other parents and watched kids playing soccer intently from three different vantage points. The employee said he would call back if he saw the vehicle again and could get the license plate number. There was no criminal activity, just a suspicious behavior.

THEFT IN-PROGRESS | SAFEWAY, North Bend

On April 21st around 7PM, an employee reported that a drunk male had stolen vodka and left on a bike. The man was wearing a jean jacket with flames on the back of it.

RECKLESS DRIVING | 2ND ST & DOWNING AVE, North Bend

On April 23rd at 7PM two different callers reported a teen riding an ATV on the sidewalk near North Bend ES. One caller said the sidewalk driving repeatedly happens, was not happy about it, but did not want police contact.  An officer responded and contacted a male riding an ATV on his property.  The officer warned him about driving on the sidewalks and/or road.        _____________________________________________________________________________________

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES | CASCADE AVE SE, Snoqualmie

On April 24th at 5:30PM a caller reported a man checking a private property area with a metal detector and digging up large holes in a community park.  An officer responded and contacted the man who was told to fix the holes he made and leave the area.

AREA CHECK | BENDIGO BLVD, North Bend

On April 27th around 8PM officers performed a foot patrol of the Snoqualmie Valley Trail and surrounding area where they found a female in a golf cart on the trail. She was advised that no motorized vehicles were allowed.

WEAPONS OFFENSE |  TWO RIVERS SCHOOL, North Bend

On April 28th around 11AM school staff thought they saw a man with a gun walking on the trail. Officers checked the area and found a male matching the description at the school. The male said he just had a phone in his hand. As the male matched the description perfectly, the call was cleared after officers checked the area for anyone else matching the description.
