Police Blotter | Late night weed-wacking; chronic shoplifting; car ‘drunk-ditched’ in roundabout; smoking pot in the park

Here are a few of the calls the Snoqualmie Police Department responded to in North Bend and Snoqualmie during the first half of June.

DISPUTE | WARRIOR QUIKSTOP, North Bend

On June 3rd around 6:30PM, caller reported a man in his 40s arguing with employees over a parking spot. The man was last seen down the street in front of a gas station. Per request of the business, the man was trespassed for life from the property.

THEFT REPORT | OUTLET MALL, North Bend

On June 5th around 11:15AM, caller reported a female took several pairs of shoes from Zumiez and  a left in a car. Only description on the car was that it was white or tan.

DISTURBANCE | NORTH BEND WAY & CEDAR FALLS WAY, North Bend

On June 5th around 4:15PM, there were several reports of the same car accident, including from the Snoqualmie School District. Driver of a Ford rear ended the driver of a Kia. Ford driver claimed Kia driver slammed on her breaks. Ford driver and son were both verbally abusive towards the female driver of the Kia, but ended up apologizing to her after the officers arrived on scene. Officer helped drivers to exchange information and keep the peace.

NOISE COMPLAINT | PINE AVE, Snoqualmie

On June 5th around 10PM, someone called to complain about a neighbor using a weed wacker. The reporting person called back after their first call to report that the noise had stopped and cancelled request for police. According to the reporting officer, “late night yard work is not appreciated by neighbors.”

THEFT IN-PROGRESS | SAFEWAY, North Bend

On June 5th around 6:15PM, employees called to report that they were following a man through the store who had repeatedly stolen from the store in the past and then tried to return the stole items. The reporting person wanted the man trespassed from the store. When police responded, the man ran behind Safeway and then walked down 123rd. Police made a positive ID on the man, in his 50s, and detained him. He has been trespassed from Safeway for one year, arrested, and booked at Issaquah Jail.

THEFT IN-PROGRESS | OUTLET MALL, North Bend

On June 5th around 9PM, Famous Footwear employee reported that multiple pairs of Nike shoes were stolen. The suspect was a woman in her 30s, who was still at the Outlet Mall heading towards other stores at time of report. Officers detained the suspect. She was caught with stolen items from multiple Outlet Mall stores and booked into Issaquah Jail on four counts of 3rd degree theft.

MALICIOUS MISCHIEF IN-PROGRESS | SNOQUALMIE POINT PARK

On June 6th around 10:30PM, caller reported seeing a man and woman, both in their late teens or early 20s, with bowie knives tearing up the bathroom and throwing their knives at the bathroom sign. The caller also reported that they were on the roof at one point. Requested both be trespassed from all Snoqualmie parks for three months.

TRAFFIC STOP | NORTH BEND WAY

On June 7th around 8:45AM, during a traffic stop, a man was arrested after backing into the officer’s vehicle and causing damage. He was arrested for driving with a suspended license and no ignition interlock installed in the vehicle. He also had an outstanding warrant from Ocean Shores. He was booked into Issaquah Jail.

ACCIDENT/NON-INJURY | CEDAR FALLS WAY & NORTH BEND WAY

On June 8th around 2PM, officers responded to a mini cooper blocking a roundabout. The car stuck the curb and lawn, became disabled in the middle of the roundabout, and was abandoned by the driver. Witnesses saw male and female fleeing from the scene. Subjects were found. Neither had been injured but both had been drinking. Officer reported charges will follow.

FOUND PROPERTY | BOALCH AVE, North Bend

On June 9th around 11AM, concerned citizen reported finding a box full of personal property in the middle of the roadway. Box contained several pairs of eyeglasses and sunglasses. Witness said he thought he heard it fall off a black SUV around 9:30AM.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES | 11TH PLACE, North Bend

On June 9th around 9:45PM, officers detained five juveniles on charges of Minor In Possession. They were founds in a cluster of trees behind the play structure at 12 Street park in Si View neighborhood smoking marijuana. The officers walked all kids home and told them to expect summons in the mail for the MIP charge.

NOISE COMPLAINT | BINDLESTICK, Snoqualmie

On June 10th, around 10:15PM, officers responded to a reporting person who was upset that live music was playing past 10PM. Officers once again warned the owner. This has been an ongoing problem of live music playing outside past 10PM. Band stopped when asked to.

THEFT IN-PROGRESS | SAFEWAY, North Bend

On June 10th around 7:30PM, caller reported a female shop lifter. Employee followed the woman through the store. An officer responded. The woman was asked to empty her pockets. She complied and removed items from her pockets. She was trespassed from the store for for one year and booked into King County Jail for theft, resisting arrest, and drug paraphernalia.

THEFT REPORT | MCDONALDS, North Bend

On June 11th around 4:15PM, a caller reported their purse was stolen from the ladies room of McDonalds. The person reported it an hour after the purse was stolen so there were no known leads or suspects.

AGENCY ASSIST | SNOQUALMIE POINT PARK

On June 14th around 1:20PM, a vehicle fire was reported in the parking lot. Fire Department deemed it to be mechanical. Driver and pets escaped without injury. Snoqualmie Valley towing towed the car.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES | MCCLELLAN STREET, North Bend

On June 14th around 7:15PM, officers contacted a known subject in the park with an open container. Warned on open container laws and had him pour out his beer.

JUVENILE PROBLEM | MCDONALDS, North Bend

On June 14th around 9:30PM, 2 known juvenile subjects stole soda from drinking fountain. Employee’s confronted them and asked them to leave. Upon leaving the store they threw the cup with soda at the window. No damage caused. Both trespassed for one year at the manager’s request.
