Plein Air Paint Out 2022 Poster Selected – “In the Moment”

Artist Britt Greenland, this year’s Designated Snoqualmie Plein Air Paint Out artist, painted in Sandy Cove Park in honor of this year’s Railroad Days on August 28.

Based on a City Facebook and Instagram vote, participants selected an oil-based work inspired by a Snoqualmie River view and titled “In the Moment” as the Plein Air Paint Out winning painting for 2022.

This is the thirteenth year of the Plein Air Paint Out, which means to paint outdoors. The event is hosted by the Snoqualmie Arts Commission, which has a mission of nurturing a vibrant arts scene in Snoqualmie.

The Falls Compounding Pharmacy in downtown Snoqualmie will display the winning painting September 13-30.

The Arts Commission will create a poster based on the painting, which will be available for sale to the public at the Art Gallery of SnoValley. For more information, contact Sally Rackets at sallyrackets@comcast.net.

When asked for comment on her experience Green land said, “I would like to give a big “thank you” to the City of Snoqualmie and the Snoqualmie Arts Commission for the opportunity to represent all plein air painters during Railroad Days.

“It was a beautiful experience painting at Sandy Cove Park accompanied by live music from JD Cotton.  If you have always promised yourself that you would learn to oil paint, there are a few spots available in my upcoming workshop Sept. 18-19 at Britt Greenland Gallery in North Bend!  It’s a fun and safe space for true beginners. Or just come to chat and view!  The gallery is open Wed-Sat 12-5:50 pm.”
