Mount Si High School was on a modified lockdown Thursday morning, March 6, 2014, as announced to students by Principal John Belcher.  Parents also reported Twin Falls Middle School went into the same type of lockdown as a safety precaution.

According to one teacher, a non-specific threat regarding the Snoqualmie Valley School District was phoned into 911.mshsfront

King County Sheriffs Sergeant Cindi West confirmed a man called 911 this morning, March 6th,  and made threats toward Snoqualmie Valley schools. Police responded to the callers home with negotiators, attempting to get the man to come out of his house.

Schools were on lockdown for precaution. Students were safe. Police officers were also present at some SVSD schools as extra precaution. Parents were asked for cooperation by staying away from schools.

King County Sheriffs Office deputies apprehended the suspect around 9:45AM at his home located in the 16500 block of 466th PL SE in North Bend.

An email blast to parents, SVSD stated:

“We have a police presence at all North Bend and historic Snoqualmie area schools, and have put those buildings in a modified lockdown.  The schools on modified lockdown include: Mount Si High School main campus and freshman campus, Two Rivers School, Twin Falls Middle School, North Bend Elementary, Snoqualmie Elementary, and Opstad Elementary.  This means classes are resuming as normal, but we will have all exterior doors locked, and where students need to exit the building, we have administration and police presence monitoring our campus.”
