Pedestrian Fatality Collision Closes N203 for Hours Monday Evening

A tragic car vs. pedestrian accident closed North 203 for 3 hours on Monday, October 30th, 2023.  

According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), a Ford F45 driven by a 30-year-old man from Monroe was traveling Northbound on 203 at NE 138th Street around 7 p.m. when it struck an 80-year-old man from Duvall who was crossing the road.

The truck continued to the Safeway parking lot before it came to a stop. The pedestrian came to rest on the shoulder of SR203.

The pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene, and the next of kin notification was made at the scene by the EMS Chaplain. Neither the driver of the truck nor his passenger, a 28-year-old also from Monroe, were injured.

The roadway was blocked for three hours and thirteen minutes.
