Park Street Overlay Project in North Bend Begins September 20th

On September 20, 2021, contractor crews from Lakeside Industries will begin work on the Park Street Overlay Project.

On Monday, September 20, Lakeside will perform work that includes grinding road sections and making repairs from Bendigo Boulevard to approximately 300 feet west of the Park Street roundabout, located at the intersection of North Bend Way and Park Street.

Crews will be working on one side of the roadway, with alternating one-way traffic on the other side of the road. In addition, Lakeside shall be grinding the entire width of the roadway from Bendigo Boulevard to Main Street. During this time, traffic crews will allow eastbound traffic only to pass through this one-block stretch.

Westbound traffic from Bendigo Boulevard to Main Street will be detoured. Drivers can expect to see clearly displayed detour signage and should also expect delays during this time. If possible, drivers are encouraged to use alternative routes.

On Tuesday, September 21, Lakeside is expected to move forward in overlaying the entire project, from Bendigo Boulevard to approximately 300 feet west of the Park Street roundabout. Crews will be working on one side of the roadway, with alternating one-way traffic on the other side of the road.

As with the grinding, eastbound traffic will only pass through this one-block stretch, from Bendigo Boulevard to Main Street, during paving operations.  Westbound traffic from Bendigo Boulevard to Main Street will be detoured. Again, drivers can expect to see clearly displayed detour signage and expect delays during this time and are encouraged to use alternative routes if possible.

The remaining work will include raising utilities and striping. This final work is anticipated to start directly after the grind and overlay work is completed. During this time, Lakeside will be working on one side of the roadway, with alternating one-way traffic on the other side of the road.

Residents and businesses within the immediate project vicinity should anticipate noise and vibration during construction. Work hours will be between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

All work is anticipated to be completed by Friday, October 1st. All aspects of this work are weather-dependent and subject to schedule changes. More information will be released as the project progresses.

The City appreciates residents’ patience and understanding as crews move forward in completing this vital traffic improvement project.
