North Bend Named a Healthy Workplace for 14th Year, Opens Doors for Community Service

The City of North Bend is excited to share that for the 14th consecutive year, it has been honored with the Well City Award from the Association of Washington Cities (AWC) for 2024. This award recognizes North Bend’s ongoing commitment to the health of its city employees.

Mayor Miller stated, “The Well City Award is a testament to our commitment in fostering a healthy workplace here in North Bend. Our staff play a vital role in the success of our city. Let’s keep them healthy!”

Being a Well City means North Bend is acknowledged for the following:

  • Offering solid and lasting benefits and a work setting that promotes the well-being of employees.
  • Lowering expenses through fewer sick days, disability and health care claims, and reduced workers’ compensation claims.
  • Fostering a healthy work atmosphere results in happy, productive employees dedicated to their community.

As part of this recognition, North Bend employees get to join in various community-focused activities. Examples include tree planting, helping at the local food bank, and cleaning up litter. These events are eagerly anticipated by the staff each year.

Keep an eye out for details on the upcoming North Bend Beautification Days. This event, planned around Earth Day on April 21st and 22nd, will involve litter cleanup across the city in partnership with local organizations and residents.
