North Bend Launches Middle Fork Overlook Park Development

The City of North Bend has initiated the Middle Fork Overlook Park project near the intersection of SE North Bend Way and SE Tanner Road.

This upcoming pocket park and picnic area will offer scenic views of the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie River and be easily accessible to pedestrians via the Tanner Trail and the Snoqualmie Valley Trail.

Features of the New Park

Plans for the park include:

  • A berm along SE North Bend Way to create a barrier between the road and the park
  • A concrete plaza with tables, benches, a bicycle rack, and a trash can
  • Landscaping to enhance the natural environment, such as Native plantings and Cedar nurse logs
  • Granite river boulders with embedded river cobbles

Construction is primarily occurring on the shoulder of SE North Bend Way and is not expected to impact traffic in the area significantly.

Timeline and Additional Details

The City anticipates completing the project by the end of February, weather permitting, with additional planting work continuing into early spring. Residents with comments or questions can contact Mike Mayen, Project Engineer, at mmayen@northbendwa.gov.
