On Wednesday, September 23, unincorporated King County neighbors and North Bend residents are invited to an open house about the South Fork Avenue SE annexation proceedings. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. at North Bend City Hall.
City staff will be available to answer questions from North Bend and unincorporated King County residents about:
- The annexation petition proponent
- The annexation process
- Applicable city zoning and development regulations that will apply to the area if annexed
- City services
- Potential tax and utility rate differences between Unincorporated King County and the City of North Bend
South Fork Avenue SE: An annexation proposal
Property owners in Unincorporated King County, east of South Fork Avenue SE and west of the South Fork Snoqualmie River, have asked the City of North Bend to consider annexing their land.
The City surrounds the neighborhood on three sides. If approved, the 25.7-acre community located behind the Mountain Valley Shopping Center near SW Mt Si Boulevard will be moved from King County’s jurisdiction to the City of North Bend’s jurisdiction.
