North Bend Downtown Foundation Reveals New Mural on Iron Duck Public House

The North Bend Downtown Foundation (NBDF) is proud to announce the completion of a vibrant new mural on the back side of the Iron Duck Public House, bringing a fresh wave of creativity and color to the heart of North Bend.

This project, a collaboration between the NBDF, local property owner Craig Glazier, past NBDF Design Committee Chairperson Beth Burrows & committee members and artist Sarah Hughes of A Pinch Different, represents a significant enhancement to the downtown area.

The mural, officially completed in August 2024, was commissioned as part of the NBDF’s ongoing efforts to beautify and enrich the North Bend community. The project was made possible by a generous grant from the Snoqualmie Tribe, awarded in 2022, which enabled the Foundation’s Design Committee to select and work closely with Hughes in creating a piece that reflects the unique spirit of North Bend.

Craig Glazier & Beth Burrows are dedicated supporters of downtown North Bend and were instrumental in bringing this project to life. Their collaboration with the NBDF ensured that the mural would not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the Iron Duck Public House but also serve as a lasting testament to the community’s commitment to supporting local arts and culture.

“We are thrilled to see this mural come to fruition,” said a North Bend Downtown Foundation spokesperson. “Sarah Hughes has done an incredible job capturing the essence of our community, and we are grateful to the Snoqualmie Tribe for their support in making this possible. This mural is more than just art; it’s a symbol of collaboration, community pride, and cultural respect.”

A dedication from the Snoqualmie Tribe accompanies the mural: We acknowledge that we are on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples who have reserved treaty rights to this land, specifically the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe (sdukʷalbixʷ). We thank these caretakers of this land who have lived and continue to live here since time immemorial.

An unveiling event for the mural will be planned this Fall. The North Bend Downtown Foundation encourages the community to stay tuned to the NBDF website and social media channels for details on the date and time of the event.

The North Bend Downtown Foundation invites the community to visit the mural and experience firsthand the vibrant energy it brings to the downtown area.
