Nighttime and Weekend Closures Scheduled for SR 18 On-Ramps to I-90

Drivers should prepare for upcoming closures affecting the SR 18/Snoqualmie Parkway on-ramps to eastbound and westbound Interstate 90 near Snoqualmie.

The SR 18/Snoqualmie Parkway on-ramp to eastbound I-90 will close from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly on Wednesday, Oct. 1, and Thursday, Oct. 2, reopening Friday morning, Oct. 3. A signed detour will direct traffic onto westbound I-90 to loop around at Preston/Fall City (exit 22).

Freight traffic should avoid Issaquah-Hobart Road and Issaquah city streets, which are not suitable for semi-trucks. Delays are expected during the nightly closures.

Contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will install guardrail and landscaping during the ramp closures. The work is part of the I-90/SR 18 Interchange Improvements project, which includes a new diverging diamond interchange and widening SR 18 to two lanes in each direction between I-90 and Deep Creek. The widening work is scheduled to finish later this fall.

In addition, the SR 18/Snoqualmie Parkway on-ramp to westbound I-90 will close around the clock from 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, to 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6. During this weekend closure, a signed detour will use eastbound I-90 and loop around at Southeast North Bend Way (exit 27). Drivers should expect delays.

While the westbound ramp is closed, crews will grind and grade the ramp, prepare it for its final configuration, complete the installation of permanent ramp metering, install guardrail, replace temporary barriers with permanent ones, and sample the soil.
