Over the past few months, Living Snoqualmie has reported on some new businesses relocating their headquarters to Snoqualmie. Time has marched on and we are now nearing the move in dates for Motion Water Sports (under construction all year) and Spacelabs Healthcare. The King County Dept. of Permitting opened the doors to its new location in October.
These businesses making their new homes in the Snoqualmie Ridge Business Park will bring nearly 600 jobs to support the local Snoqualmie Valley economy.
Here’s the latest update:
Motion Water Sports, a leader in the manufacturing and distribution of water sport products, will be relocating its headquarters from Redmond to a building currently under construction at 7926 Bracken Place SE. This is the big gray building at the intersection of Snoqualmie Parkway and Fairway Ave. The move in date for the company’s 85 employees is scheduled for this month. The facility will have 18,000 square feet of office space and 117,000 square feet for a main distribution center for HO, Liquid Force, Connelly/CWB, and two other affiliated water sports brands.
The King County Department of Permitting and Environmental Review relocated its offices from Renton to Snoqualmie in mid-October. This King County department has approximately 90 employees and occupies 29,000 square feet in the Kendall Lake Building at 35030 SE Douglas St. The department issues building and land use permits for properties located in unincorporated King County, enforces county land use and building codes, and staffs the King County Fire Marshal Division.
“We’re very excited about having nearly 600 new jobs coming to the Snoqualmie Valley,” said Kevin Dwyer, CEO of the Snoqualmie Valley Chamber of Commerce. “These companies will enrich our communities and will have positive, far-reaching impacts on our restaurants, shops, housing and small businesses. We look forward to welcoming them here and hope that their presence will help us attract similar businesses that appreciate our friendly business climate, proximity to Seattle, Bellevue and Tacoma, our natural beauty and laid back lifestyle.”
In addition to these businesses, a new Chase Bank branch is scheduled to open in February (also in the business park across from the Key Bank) and a new Montessori school, Morning Star Montessori, in January at the corner of Swenson Drive and Snoqualmie Parkway.
