Drivers traveling near Carnation and Duvall should prepare for multiple road closures and traffic delays in August, as King County Road Services and the Washington State Department of Transportation carry out scheduled bridge, culvert, and pavement maintenance.

Beginning Monday, August 11, northbound and southbound traffic on State Route 203 will alternate nightly between Carnation and Duvall for pavement repairs. From 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday through Thursday nights, WSDOT maintenance crews will grind and repair pavement along SR 203/Monroe-Duvall Road from East Bird Road (milepost 6) to 268th Avenue Northeast (milepost 13). This work will continue through the morning of Friday, August 22. Flaggers and a pilot car will direct drivers through the work zone.
On Tuesday, August 19, NE Carnation Farm Road will fully close over the Stossel Bridge between the 30919 block and 310th Avenue NE from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for bridge maintenance. Emergency vehicles will be allowed through if needed, but all other traffic must follow the signed detour via NE 124th Street, West Snoqualmie Valley Road, and SR 203.
Near Duvall, NE Woodinville Duvall Road will be closed between West Snoqualmie Valley Road and Main Street NE on three separate days: Monday, August 18; Wednesday, August 20; and Thursday, August 21, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day. These closures are also for bridge maintenance. Emergency access will be maintained, but all other vehicles and bicycles will need to use alternate routes.

Additional work is scheduled near Carnation on NE 24th Street west of Lake Langlois Road NE to install a concrete box culvert. Both the road and its bypass lane will be impacted:

- Thursday, August 21 (tentative), from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. – full road closure to all traffic
These dates are subject to change depending on crew availability, equipment, materials, or weather. Emergency vehicles will have access if needed but may experience brief delays.
