The Mt Si Wildcats have a chance to earn a state playoff berth. Tonight they play the Glacier Peak Grizzlies of Snohomish at Veteran’s Memorial Stadium. Kick off is at 7:30PM. The school website says to allow 1 hr 20 minutes of drive time.
Glacier Peak is ranked 9th in the state. They have a season record of 8 – 1. Our Wildcats enter the state tournament at 5 -4. That record, though, comes from inside the KingCo 3A conference. Three teams in this conference are ranked top ten in the state. This means the boys are well prepared for tonight’s game. They have spent most of this season playing high-caliber teams – and the losses suffered to those top ranked teams were very close losses.
The Wildcats are regarded as a team capable of holding Glacier Peak’s high scoring offense. Our defense is tough and our offense is strong. The key seems to be keeping MSHS offense on the field – and Glacier Peak’s off the field. It should be a close, competitive game.
The school hopes to send two rooter buses to tonight’s game. The buses are for MSHS students only. The cost is $10 and includes round trip transportation and admission to the game. The buses depart MSHS at 5:15PM.
