North Bend native and Mount Si High School Class of 2015 graduate Adrienna “Annie” Rasmussen suddenly and tragically passed away on June 19, 2016 in Arizona at the young age of 18.
Annie was attending college in Arizona and went hiking during the area’s recent heat wave when she succumbed to heat stroke.
Annie was known and loved by many in the Snoqualmie Valley. She worked for years at Mt. Si Sports and Fitness and is remembered by those who knew her as an “amazing young lady.”
A Celebration of Adrienna Rasmussen’s Life will be held on Saturday, July 9th at 4PM at Si View Community Center, located at 400 SE Orchard Street.
Her sudden death has left many in the Snoqualmie Valley grieving and looking for ways to help. Adrienna’s former boss at Mt. Si Sport and Fitness recently set up a Memorial Fund in an effort to help ease the financial struggles now facing her family.
A family friend explained that Annie’s mother, who suffers from a serious medical condition, has incurred unmanageable financial challenges due to unexpected travel and funeral expenses. They are hoping to raise $6,000 to help her mom during this difficult time – including covering the medical, transportation, memorial and burial expenses involved in bringing Annie home from Arizona.
According to Memorial page, “The intent of this fundraiser is to ensure that Adrienna has a fitting celebration of her wonderful life and her family is not burdened worse than they already are.”
