Overview

The Mount Si football team begins their post-season play this Friday as they play host to the Auburn Mountainview Lions.

The Wildcat’s capped off one of the best seasons in school history, finishing 8-1, and securing the #2 ranking in all of 3A KingCo. The one loss of course, coming at the hands of conference-rival and 3A #1 Bellevue High School, who also is ranked #5 in the entire nation.

Auburn Mountainview comes in with only a 3-6 record. The Lions had a huge game last week vs. Bonny Lake High School, wuth the winner getting a spot in the 32-team state playoffs. Auburn Mountainview won 30-26 and clinched third place in the South Puget Sound League. Third place in the SPSL automatically gets in, even with a losing record.

Mount Si will be playing their final game at home on Friday, and a win will be the first step on a possible title run. The game starts on Friday at Mount Si High School, with kickoff at 7:30.

Prediction

Mount Si is one of the best teams in the state, and Auburn Mountanview plays in a very weak SPSL conference. Auburn Mountainview has played four games vs. playoff teams this year, and lost all of them by a combined score of 127-35. Mount Si, on the other hand, played six playoff teams this year, going 5-1 vs. them and winning by a combined score of 210-62.

Expect a huge game from the Wildcat starters, and Mount Si should have this game wrapped up by halftime. The gap between these two schools in talent is immense, and we will see another blow out as Mount Si cruises to the next round of the playoffs.

Prediction: Mount Si 49 Auburn Mountainview 7
