[Guest Post by North Bend resident Mark Davis]
Batten down the hatches; we have a wind event on Monday, December 23rd. The wind will start to pick up at around 5 p.m. and should subside by 1 a.m. to 2 a.m. Tuesday morning.
The peak gusts should be between 10pm and midnight. It’ll remain breezy into the morning hours. Depending on your location, expect wind gusts of 50mph or higher.
This is the low pressure that will cause our east winds. This storm is smaller than the wind event that we had in November.
A couple of different wind models show gusts at about 60mph. These winds could cause issues as far west as Issaquah, but not as bad as November’s storm.
Stay prepared, take precautions to secure outdoor items, and avoid unnecessary travel during peak gusts between 10 p.m. and midnight. While this storm is smaller than November’s event, its strong winds could cause disruptions, including power outages. Keep an eye on local updates, and stay safe!
