On Wednesday, May 27th around 2:40PM, Eastside Fire & Rescue (EF&R) crews responded to the Little Si Trailhead in North Bend after a caller reported a man had fallen.

EF&R PIO Steve Johnson said the reporting person told dispatch that the man had fallen about 40 feet.

Crews arrived and hiked approximately one mile to the scene of the accident when they discovered the man was deceased and that it sadly would be a recovery mission.

King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) Sgt. Ryan Abott said the 22-year old Edmonds man was climbing in the British Aisles rock climbing area when the accident occurred.

According to climbing website Mountain Project, this climbing area is closest to the Little Si trailhead parking lot and contains four walls.
