Love cycling? Snoqualmie Valley Velo club says, ‘Come Ride with Us’

Did you know the Valley has a cycling club? It does!

Whether you are into recreational bicycling or racing, Snoqualmie Valley Velo Club has it all, hosting weekly rides for all abilities, participating in cycling events, and getting like-minded bicyclists together for fun and fitness.

SVVC was formed on Christmas Eve 2012. A number of its founders rode together, off and on, prior to the club’s formation – and that’s when ride discussions and post ride conversations over a beer turned an idea: a club that represented cycling in the Snoqualmie Valley.

As an organization, SVVC provides education, training, and nutrition ideas for those interested in the sport of cycling. The club has grown from a handful of members in 2013 to over 55 in 2016. Over the last three years the club and its members have supported the Mount Si Mountain Biking Team, sponsored local events and participated in races in a number of cycling disciplines.

SVVC says its members are very diverse bunch, with every type and level of riders represented. Some members are just getting into the sport and some have been highly ranked in the racing scene – who also love mentoring and sharing their knowledge. Inclusion and promoting of the activity and sport of cycling are what SVVC prides itself on.

In 2017 SVVC is planning more regularly scheduled rides and some big Grand Fondo’s that take advantage of the beautiful, local scenery. Members are hosting are hosting an End of Season/2017 Membership meeting party this Saturday, December 3rd from 6-9PM at The Bindlestick Coffee and Beer House in downtown Snoqualmie.

SVVC says they love to welcome new members and invite anyone interested community to join and ‘come ride with us.’
