A new community-focused nonprofit initiative, FLAG (Fairway Living Advocacy Group), has officially launched with the goal of strengthening connections between golf, movement, and neighborhood life in golf-adjacent communities.
Founded by Snoqualmie resident Nick Vlahovich, FLAG seeks to reframe how golf courses function within communities, not simply as recreational spaces, but as shared landscapes that support wellness, connection, and inclusive participation.
“Golf courses sit at the center of many of our neighborhoods,” said Vlahovich. “FLAG was created to encourage thoughtful engagement with those spaces — to make them more active, more connected, and more community-driven.”
From Idea to Action
FLAG’s first public initiative, the FLAG Golf Pushcart Challenge, debuted with a pilot event at Twin Rivers Golf Course in Fall City. The Challenge invites participants to walk or jog a full round of golf while using a pushcart, emphasizing endurance, accessibility, and shared experience along with traditional competition.
The pilot demonstrated strong local interest in creative, movement-based golf formats and helped shape FLAG’s broader vision of community-centered programming.

Beyond events, FLAG serves as a platform for:

Rooted Locally
While FLAG has long-term ambitions to grow thoughtfully, its foundation remains local. Early collaborations and pilot programming have centered around Snoqualmie Valley and surrounding communities.
“FLAG is not a commercial enterprise,” Vlahovich noted. “It’s a community framework designed to bring people together in a practical, inclusive way.”
