Snoqualmie resident Sean Sundwall is a local insurance agent and Mount Si High School track coach by day, an around the clock father of four, owner of local race organizer Run Snoqualmie – and somehow in his free time managed to find time to train for marathons and become a world-class caliber distance runner. The hard work paid off this morning, April 15, 2013.
Today with a time of 2:29:32, Sean was the overall 79th finisher of the coveted 117th Boston Marathon – and placed 13th in the Masters Division.
Need some perspective on just how great a finish that is? About 26,000 people entered the race, with over 11,000 of the runners in Sean’s age group. The winner of this year’s Boston Marathon, Lelisa Desisa of Ethiopia, ran it just a few minutes faster, with a time of 2:10:22. Sean’s average mile pace for the 26.2 miles was 5:42.
Sean competed in the Boston Marathon alongside his sister, Sommer Reynolds, who finished in a time of 03:17:58. Sommer is also a Snoqualmie resident.
Congratulations Sean and Sommer!
