Letter | A Community Commitment Worth Renewing

As a Snoqualmie Valley community member, I am proud of our schools and the opportunities they provide our students. That success does not happen by accident. It happens because our community consistently shows up for kids, educators, and schools. Renewing the Educational Programs and Operations Levy and the Technology Levy is an important way to continue that commitment.

These levies fund programs and services that the state does not fully cover, but in many cases mandates districts to provide. That includes teachers, counselors, nurses, and staff who support students academically and emotionally. They also support lower class sizes, music, arts, athletics, advanced courses, and extracurricular activities that help students discover passions and build confidence. Without levy support, many of these programs would be difficult to sustain.

Technology is equally essential. Students need reliable devices, secure networks, and modern tools to meet learning standards and develop digital skills that will prepare them for their futures. These levies ensure equitable access for all students and help our children stay competitive.

Both measures replace existing levies. They are not new taxes. They are about maintaining what our community already values.

Voting YES means investing in safe schools, strong programs, and real opportunities for every student. It is a practical choice—and the right one—for Snoqualmie Valley.
