In ‘Last to First’ Classic Tale, Mount Si Baseball Takes Home KingCo 4A Title

It was a rough 2015 baseball season for the Mount Si Wildcats. But in a classic ‘last to first’ fairytale story, Mount Si abandoned last season’s losing ways, battled back this year to take home the KingCo 4A title on May 10, 2016 under the lights at Bannerwood Baseball Park in Bellevue – in only their second season in the tougher 4A conference.

It all came together in the title game for Mount Si after a rough previous week that included a bitter loss to Skyline in a marathon, 20-inning game. Senior Collin Anderson got the win, pitching six innings and allowing only one run on just one hit. Some of the offensive highlights included Harrison D’Anna who went 3-4 with two RBI’s, Matt Dolewski who went 2-4 and also had two RBI’s and Mason Marenco who went 2-5, including an RBI triple.

It ended in jubilation as Mount Si trounced Woodinville 9-2 for the conference championship. The title also allows the team 10 days off to prepare for the state tournament.

Mount Si travels to Puyallup’s Heritage Athletic Complex on Saturday, May 21st for the WIAA State 4A Regionals. Their opponent has yet to be determined.

Congratulations Mount Si Baseball.
