King County Sheriff’s Marine Unit Responds to Bridge Over Snoqualmie River

Some North Bend residents inquired about the police activity late last week on a bridge over the Snoqualmie SnoRiverRiver in North Bend.

Sadly, today King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) Spokesperson, Sergeant Cindi West, reported that  police and the KCSO Marine Unit responded to a suicide on the bridge on Thursday, May 18, 2013.

West said a King County Sheriff Deputy saw a car parked on the bridge at the 8600 block of 428th Ave SE in North Bend that was blocking the northbound travel lane.  When the deputy stopped to investigate he discovered a rope connected to the car and pillar of the bridge.  A deceased man was found and pronounced dead at the scene.

The King County Sheriffs Office Marine unit carefully lowered the victim to one of their boats below in the Snoqualmie River.  West said the deceased man is believed to be a 59-year old Bellevue resident.
