King County Prosecutor Declines to File Charges Against North Bend Mayor

The King County Sheriffs Office has officially finished its 4th degree assault/domestic violence Mayor Hearing 10-21-08investigation of North Bend Mayor Ken Hearing.

The mayor was arrested and spent a night in jail on March 26, 2013, after he was suspected of striking his wife with a golf club.

Today, the King County Prosecutor’s Office said it will not be filing charges against Mayor Hearing.  It was determined that the case was “legally insufficient.”  Thus, they declined to file the case.

In a statement released this morning, May 7, 2013, Mayor Hearing said,  “I learned today that the King County Prosecutor has declined to pursue any matter against me.  My belief in the process was well founded.  I continue to ask that you respect my family’s privacy. “
