January Proclaimed National Mentoring Month in Snoqualmie

At the January 9 City Council meeting, Mayor Ross proclaimed January 2023 National Mentoring Month in Snoqualmie.

The proclamation shines a light on the need for mentors throughout the Snoqualmie Valley. The positive benefits of mentorship are plentiful for young people, including healthy relationships and self-esteem, career exploration, workplace skills, college acceptance, social and support connections, increased mental health, decreased alcohol and drug use, and more.

National Mentoring Month is a time to celebrate, elevate and encourage mentoring across the region and recruit mentors in Snoqualmie.

Locally, Empower Youth Network is seeking new adult mentors who want to have a positive, direct impact on the youth in our community. If you’re interested in becoming a mentor, visit www.empoweryouthnetwork.org.
