Ivar’s opening in Issaquah, iconic restaurant pushes deeper into east King County

Snoqualmie Valley seafood fans, it looks like an iconic Seattle restaurant is pushing deeper into east King County.

Ivar’s Restaurants announced it will open its 22nd Seafood Bar in Issaquah on Thursday, Oct. 25th, bringing another addition to the Ivar’s ‘clam-ily’ to Seattle’s Eastside.

According to a press release, the new location will be at 6150 E Sammamish Pkwy SE – in the former Pallino Pastaria location near Fred Meyer – and will offer the fast, casual service and signature menu items Ivar’s in known.

“Although, we’ve made a concerted effort to remodel and rejuvenate more established stores, our last new store opening was five years ago in Bothell. We’ll continue to open new stores in areas we don’t currently serve. When searching for our next location, we wanted to continue offering our seafood fare to those east of Seattle, and Issaquah seemed like a perfect fit,” noted Carl Taylor, director of operations for Ivar’s Seafood Bars. “We look forward to serving this community, and hope our new location becomes a regular stop for lunch or dinner for residents or a stop on a road trip before or after the Snoqualmie Pass.”

The new 2,500 sq. ft. location will seat 83 guests, including 67 spots inside and 16 spots on the sidewalk patio. It will also feature historic mementos, artwork and advertisements from throughout the company’s 80-year history for guests to take in while dining or waiting for to-go orders.

Per the press release: local chowder-heads and out-of-towners alike will be able to feast on classic menu items like perfectly fried Wild Alaska True Cod fish ‘n chips, seafood entrees of clams ‘n chips, jumbo prawns ‘chips and, the ever popular, red, white and Wild Alaskan salmon chowders. The Seafood Bar will also serve salmon and halibut grilled entrées with wild rice, cole slaw and corn bread, and the salmon BLT served on a hearty, ciabatta roll with tangy aioli and fries or Wild Alaska True Cod or Baby Prawn fish tacos served with chipotle tartar, coleslaw, tortilla chips and fresh salsa.

Prior to the grand opening, two private soft opening events will also be held in support of Friends of the Issaquah Fish Hatchery (F.I.S.H.) as well as Issaquah Schools Foundation. Ivar’s is also currently recruiting for approximately 30 positions at the Issaquah location and applications are being accepted at www.ivars.com/careers.
