Infrastructure work for new home development means temporary road closure in North Bend

The City of North Bend warned residents this week that utility improvement work for a new small subdivision would lead to three temporary, full closures of Maloney Grove Ave SE near downtown North Bend.

Clearing and grading work is currently underway adjacent to Maloney Grove Avenue SE for the new Maloney Grove 13 home development. In order to construct the subdivision, homebuilder Polygon is required to make improvements to the public water, sewer, and storm drainage systems in the Maloney Grove Avenue SE area.

The city said via press release, “While most of the work in the roadway prism can be accommodated by single-lane closures, three short-term temporary full-road closures during daytime hours are now anticipated to be needed by Polygon’s contractor.”

Detour driving routes will be provided for the public. Local access for residents within the closure area will also be available.

Maloney Grove Avenue SE road closures between SE 10th Street and SE Cedar Falls Way will occur on the following days from approximately 9:15AM to 3:30PM:

  • Thursday, February 15th
  • Monday, February 19th
  • Monday, February 26th

The City of North Bend said it recognizes that construction on this road corridor could be a significant inconvenience to residents and they will continue to make public safety our number one priority.

During construction, residents wit questions or concerns can contact the Public Works office at 425-888-0486 or email Carrie Smith at csmith@northbendwa.gov, or Brian Tucker at btucker@northbendwa.gov.
