Located in the heart of Snoqualmie, India Belly is redefining the local dining scene with its bold flavors, warm hospitality, and vibrant atmosphere.
Situated at 8406 Railroad Ave, the modern Indian restaurant—owned by Amit and Rashi Seth—offers a fresh take on Indian street food, Indo-Chinese fusion, and classic curries. Since its grand opening in August 2024, it has quickly become a local favorite.

The Seths, experienced restaurateurs and newer residents of Snoqualmie transformed the former Got Rice location into a bright, welcoming space filled with the aromas of sizzling Tandoori dishes and fragrant spices.
Their passion for food and a strong commitment to the community is evident in every detail, from their carefully curated menu to how they make diners feel at home.

On a particularly cold evening, I visited India Belly with my friend Sheetal Mathur. It had been at least 20 years since I’d last had Indian food, so I asked her to guide me. Born in India and raised on traditional home-cooked meals, she was the perfect person to help me navigate the menu.
Despite the winter chill and a malfunctioning heater, the restaurant’s dedication to hospitality was evident—someone even ran out to buy space heaters to keep diners comfortable. As an added touch, the staff served a complimentary soup, a warm and satisfying take on egg drop soup that fit well within their Indo-Chinese offerings.
Josh, the most excellent bartender, set the stage for our meal with a round of small cocktail samplers, including India Belly’s signature drink—a tangy, blended cocktail with a delicate sweetness from anise. It paired beautifully with my favorite dish of the night, the Samosa Chaat. The crispy potato pastry was layered with spicy, tangy, and sweet toppings, creating a perfect balance of textures and flavors.
Sheetal introduced me to the fun of Indian fusion with the Hakka noodles, a dish that blended Chinese-style noodles with Indian spices. She insisted we try the India Belly Special Chicken, a curry with rich, complex spices that has become one of her go-to orders.
Sheetal has lived in Snoqualmie Valley since 2006 and has watched the local Indian food scene evolve. Years ago, she had to drive to Redmond or even Vancouver, B.C., for quality Indian food. That changed with the arrival of Aahaar, a South Indian restaurant that quickly became a destination for locals and visitors.
Now, with India Belly, the Valley has another standout option, this time combining North Indian and Indo-Chinese flavors.
Consistency is key for Sheetal when it comes to Indian restaurants. Too often, she said, places start strong but cut corners over time, diluting flavors or paring down menu options. So far, she says, India Belly has remained true to its vision. The bright, modern dining space, friendly service, and lively energy set it apart from more traditional Indian restaurants, making it a place where people want to linger.
For those new to Indian food, she recommends starting with garlic naan or any of the Indian breads—perfect for scooping up rich, spiced curries. Eating with your hands, she insists, is all part of the experience. “I dare you not to lick your fingers,” she laughed.
Beyond its regular menu, India Belly is quickly establishing itself as a destination for special occasions. Tomorrow, the restaurant is hosting a Valentine’s Day dinner, a luxurious seven-course meal paired with international spirits, curated in collaboration with Kimberlea Miller. At $150 per person, the evening promises a carefully crafted experience of flavors and romance. Reservations are available by calling or texting 408-242-5627.
With its comforting curries, inventive cocktails, and welcoming atmosphere, India Belly is more than just a restaurant—it’s a celebration of Indian cuisine’s past, present, and future right in the heart of Snoqualmie. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Indian food or trying it for the first time, this local gem offers an experience worth savoring. I highly recommend trying it out!
