The Washington State Patrol (WSP) stated just before midnight, February 28, 2014, a two car collision near truck town launched both vehicles from the roadway and sent one driver to the hospital.
The accident occurred on westbound I-90, just went of Truck Town near North Bend at milepost 36. According to the WSP collision report, a small SUV struck a Ford pickup, left the roadway, hit the embankment, rolled and landed in the westbound ditch.
The collision also caused the truck to leave the roadway, strike the guard rail and go down the embankment – coming to rest on the eastbound I-90 freeway shoulder.
The truck’s 36-year old male driver from Snohomish was transported to Harborview Medical Center. The Everett, male 21-year old driver of the SUV was not injured and was wearing a seatbelt.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by the Washington State Patrol. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved. Both vehicles were totaled in the overnight collision.
