On December 2, 2016, while crews were surveying land for a proposed Riverwalk Project trail, human remains were found in the wooded area north of SR 202 and Snoqualmie Parkway. A city press release said the investigation was turned over to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the deceased person’s identity and potential cause of death.
Monday, January 9, 2017, the City of Snoqualmie released the name of the deceased man – 62-year old Tiffany Galsworthy, stating he had been transient in the Snoqualmie Valley for some time.
According to the press release, Snoqualmie Police last had contact with Galsworthy in February 2016, when he was found sleeping outside. At that time he was taken to the winter shelter, which was the last time the Snoqualmie Police Department encountered him.
The Medical Examiner’s Office determined through Galsworthy’s family that he suffered from heart disease and that likely contributed to his death. There was no indication that foul play was involved.
It was determined the man had been deceased for 6 – 12 months when the remains were discovered in early December.
